My personal theory? Prince was too much of a reader not to know who Dorothy Parker was

What’s a piece of media (book, movie, song) that changed how you see the world?

Prince was:
📚 An obsessive reader.
✍🏾 A meticulous lyricist.
🧠 Known for layered references and wordplay.
🎭 Someone who enjoyed leaving clues rather than explaining everything.

Then he writes a song called “Dorothy Parker”.
Not “Dorothy.”
Not “Miss Parker.”
Not some random name.
He chose the full name of one of the most famous wits in American literary history… a woman whose entire reputation was built on razor-sharp dialogue.

Then, in the song, one of the memorable lines references “wits.” That’s enough to make any curious person raise an eyebrow. 🤔
