Every year around August 8, conversations begin about the Lion’s Gate Portal. Some people view it as a powerful spiritual gateway. Others see it as a symbolic reminder to pause, reflect, and move forward with intention.

Whether you embrace it as a sacred cosmic event or simply appreciate the symbolism, one truth remains:

A gate only matters if you’ve been building a path toward it.

For me, this year feels different.

On August 8, many will be setting intentions and speaking affirmations.

Just a few days later, on August 12, I’ll begin another chapter by returning to the University of Maryland Global Campus to complete my bachelor’s degree.

At the same time, I’m putting the finishing touches on Inner-G Scholars Academy, a curriculum that has grown from scattered notes into a living educational philosophy rooted in observation, creativity, wellness, and lifelong learning.

None of this appeared overnight.

It grew through ordinary days.

The days filled with chronic pain. The days when motivation disappeared. The days when coffee became my accountability partner. The days when I chose one more page instead of one more excuse.

Sometimes that’s what manifestation really looks like.

The Real Portal

Maybe the Lion’s Gate isn’t about waiting for the universe to open a door.

Maybe it’s realizing you’ve been building the doorway all along.

Every creation. Every lesson. Every journal entry. Every accomplishment. Every difficult decision.

Brick by brick.

The gate was never outside of me.

I was building it all along.
