Income tax is among us and many are getting those nasty calls from bill collectors asking for their cut. You work too hard for it to be over before you can enjoy living or making your own decision with your money.

Surely, there are things you would like to do and places you would like to go. If you are anything like me you have children who ask for something everyday and having to stare them in the face with a gut wrenching feeling to tell them you just don’t have it won’t cut it so you make up an excuse to appease them with a time that sometimes never comes causing another issue. Nonetheless, I will give you tips on how to keep your money and pay your bills too!

So, I will give you nine ideas that will change your life and your decisions spending your tax money that will bring you a small fortune.

You were not put on this earth to just pay bills and die!

Invest it

The one thing that is hard to hear over and over is to invest your funds. Why not pay yourself first? There are many ways to invest in your self of course stocks and bonds are a good way to start but what about starting your business. If now is not the time, when?

How much extra money do you need each month? Do you have a part-time job? Why not make your business your part-time job making that extra money?

There are several businesses you can start for free; all you would need is to discover the cost to maintain it in which you should be able to cover with your services and keep a small portion for profit.

Take a Class (or Two)

Believe it or not education will still make you more money. Especially if you are planning to get a promotion, start a new job or your own business.

There are several classes you can take for a small fee that could enrich your life tremendously even if it is mental, physical or spiritual. The one thing that can never be taken from you is your knowledge and it definitely can set you apart from the next person!

If you already have a degree, great but brush up on that existent information. Things in our world change daily and if you are not learning something new daily then you are not growing.

It is time to water that plant of a brain you have with something new!

Cut the Cost of Cable

There are a plethora of options available, especially if you own a cell phone with unlimited data or a tablet. These days you can connect your wireless device to your TV screen and watch some amazing things with great quality.

If you are not sure what is out there try visiting a store with plenty of technology. There are plenty of trained specialists who will show you ways to use technology easy.

For those streamers out there who do not conform to schedules the Amazon Fires Sick or Chrome cast is awesome! You have total power and the great thing about this is there is a one time charge for the devices (I would also recommend a router too) and all you would have to do is pay for the internet service. It is simple.

Don’t quit your Day Job

Many of us aren’t aware that you can do more living off less. Yes, I said it!

There are umpteen jobs out there that offer time off with or with out pay so that you can live your best life. A lot of times we do not think doing something for ourselves unless we are doing it for others. Ever get that urge to quit your job so that you can embark on your own business venture? Then reality kicks in and you realize your business is not making you a dime, not even gas money.

Some say you can make money with out a job you just have to have that hustle about yourself to make it happen.

However, taking time off to begin a new company and get everything running smoothly then returning back to while you have someone run it allows so many different options in the long run.

Most of us working in the corporate world only think of our corporate jobs but it is quite okay to be selfish sometimes.

Understand Credit

Most people are not aware of their rights and opportunities (to learn) about credit. We assume when the creditors call we have to do what they tell us to do, pay. What we are not fully aware of is that they make mistakes too and there is always that Strawman Arguement but we won’t go there.

I am not saying you do not have to pay your bills but sometimes there is just not enough to pay what they are demanding. That is when you negotiate. Now I would not recommend giving a kidney or a child but you can ask to settle for less than you owe.

Anytime you pay for something  by law they have to update your credit report even it is not what they want, it will still be updated or you can dispute it. Everyone falls short sometimes but it is not how you start, it is how you finish.

So next time they come calling start asking questions; is this with interest? How much is the bill with out it? Ask if you can pay that balance and settle the matter for good.

Write an Open Letter to your Local Candidate

Each year the city and state receive taxes and they disperse at least ten percent of their funds to the community. This would help others get their homes together if they have certain criteria.

Individuals living and owning business in the community may be entitled to some kick back and could possibly get their dilapidated roof fixed.

Write a letter to your city manager asking when the next meeting is to discuss public funds and attend. Find out what else your taxed dollars can do for you while you send those same funds out of the community to catch up on a bill or two.

Donate or Give to someone else and lift their Spirit

There is a Universal Law in giving. We learn about negatives and positives in Science and know once you add a positive or negative spin to any given situation you get the same response back. Except in class it comes back from the same source however it does not come from the same power.

When you are the giver, you are the power!

Knowlege + Power = Action

Giving moves things around. The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants tells many stories based on a gift of a pair of pants that fit four girls differently at some point in their life. And you can lift a spirit with one gift.

What I would not recommend is giving away your significant other’s belongings and expect the world back because you gave. Nope, you will get back that same vendictive energy dressed up looking like an amazing opportunity back. I wonder what problems the spirit on the receiving end would get?

Ask your Significant Other or Family to Invest in Business Venture

Usually when people see you doing something for yourself and are truly interested especially if it involves making money, trust they will be willing to help you.

We are all blessed with a gift, not just giving but doing. Many of us have talents that are similar to one famous person or two or even three.

I’d like to think I sound like Yonce’, look like Jill and move like Ciara, so why am I not making all three of their incomes and living their lives?

It is not always meant for everyone to have those things, but what if it brought you more than what you have?

Having money and power may not be for everyone to have. How about some wisdom and understanding?

It took me three years to write a book that is not the size of Iyanla Vanzant’s shortest book but I used what my family had to offer to complete the task. My children’s grandparents would keep them either busy or for the night and even when I did not feel like and I wanted to hang from the chandelier instead of writing I wrote anyway.

I told plenty of people I was writing and they supported me by holding me accountable by asking me about the book. That is a real investment for you.

What does this have to do with my current situation, you ask? It didn’t cost you a dime to learn about tapping into your gift and getting your loved ones to invest in you.

End the Fight Against being Double Taxed

It is time you stand up against those inner demons that put you in the same predicament year after year. Some of us just need to break curses and stop worrying why and discover how!

The how has been laid out for you, begin something new by what should stop, start or continue.

Stop getting a new car note every time you get your income tax check and start paying cash for a vehicle. Yes, there will be maintenance cost but it taken care of and with proper research you will pay less to maintain than to keep from being repossessed. It will almost be like paying taxes double time.

And definitely stop acting brand new like you know those funds will last a long time, especially if you giving all of your money towards a short term cause. Grooming yourself definitely is a must, go ahead and upgrade that body wash or razor you have admired for awhile but please keep those costly shape ups to a minimum. Take advantage when you are going somewhere that count!

Trust, you will not be fired for having a uni-brow, especially if you are doing your job! Save those taxes for something meaningful this year. Your wallet will thank you.

  1. […] For twenty plus years I would put off bills I could not afford until I filed taxes. I never truly had the pleasure of enjoying them, one day they were there and the next they were gone! This year I decided to break the curse. I paid my bills whether late or indifferent and when the funds came in I invested them into myself and my children. I enjoyed those funds, finally! Earlier this year I posted a plan for ways to handle taxes earlier this year, check out 9 Ways to Survive the 2016 Tax Season […]
