ππ Dream Narrative
Last night I dreamed I drove a long distance to go swimming. When I arrived, I carefully placed my bag down and paid close attention to the pool rules before getting into the water. I eventually swam, enjoyed the experience, and later drove home, only realizing afterward that I had taken the long route there but somehow found a much shorter way back.
The dream shifted to a mall where I unexpectedly saw an ex. Wanting his attention, I exaggerated the value of an expensive keychain displayed on a kiosk nearby. He barely acknowledged me. As my daughter, a friend, and I walked away, security approached because we had become too loud. We wandered into a security office that was temporarily empty and started climbing on the furniture, taking pictures. Looking back, I realized I was so distracted by whether my ex noticed me that I missed some genuinely good photo opportunities.
Later, we climbed into a Nissan Altima that belonged to one of the women with me. Although it wasn’t my car, I naturally ended up in the driver’s seat because I had the most experience driving. The car had a minor issue, but I quickly fixed it. While parked beside another vehicle, I noticed someone inside whom I needed to see. Neither of us acknowledged the other, but we exchanged quiet glances that seemed to say enough.
Before the dream ended, I kept discovering hidden stashes of C-Note cigars tucked throughout the car. Every time I thought I had found them all, another stash appeared.
β₯ Initial Reflection
The more I reflected on this dream, the less it felt like separate scenes and more like a single lesson unfolding.
Every part of the dream quietly asked:
“What are you still chasing that no longer needs chasing?”
At the same time, another question emerged:
“What valuable things have been with you all along?”
Those two questions seem unrelated, but by the end of the dream they felt inseparable.
π Cosmic Weather at the Time of the Dream
Moon Phase: π Waning Gibbous in Capricorn/Mercury Retrograde in Leo
The Waning Gibbous invites reflection, gratitude, and integration. Capricorn encourages wisdom gained through experience, discipline, and recognizing the long-term value of our efforts.
This wasn’t a dream about beginning something new.
It was about recognizing how far I’ve already traveled.

π§Ώ Symbol Breakdown
ππΎ Swimming
Water often represents emotions, healing, intuition, and the subconscious.
The important part?
I actually got into the water.
Healing wasn’t theoretical.
It was experienced.
π£οΈ Long Road There…Short Road Home
Sometimes growth feels slow while we’re living it.
Only afterward do we realize we’ve found a much easier way forward.
ποΈ The Mall
The mall represents choices, identity, and perceived value.
This wasn’t about shopping.
It was about attention.
π€ The Ex
Rather than focusing on the person, I see him as representing an older version of myself that once needed external validation.
His silence didn’t feel cruel.
It felt complete.
πΈ Missing the Better Pictures
This part made me laugh after waking up.
While trying to be noticed by someone who wasn’t looking…
I missed beautiful moments happening right beside me.
How often do we do that in waking life?
π Driving the Altima
Even though it wasn’t my vehicle, I naturally became the driver because I had the experience.
That felt surprisingly familiar.
Sometimes leadership isn’t assigned.
It’s simply recognized.
π§ Fixing the Car
Problems appeared.
I solved them.
Then I kept moving.
No panic.
Just quiet confidence.
π¬ Hidden C-Notes
This may have been my favorite symbol.
“C-note” often means one hundred dollars.
Finding stash after stash reminded me that abundance sometimes isn’t something we earn.
Sometimes it’s something we finally notice.
As an author, journal creator, and educator, it reminded me that many of my greatest resources are already sitting on my own shelves.

βπΎ Journal Prompts
- Where am I taking the long road simply because it’s familiar?
- What old validation no longer deserves my attention?
- What opportunities am I overlooking while looking backward?
- What hidden gifts have I already created?
- Where have I become more experienced than I give myself credit for?
π Reiki + Chakra Reflection

Ground yourself in what you already know.
You don’t have to prove your worth.
You only have to remember it.

π Third Eye Open Journal
Every dream leaves behind a breadcrumb.
Some lead us toward healing.
Others quietly remind us that we’ve been carrying the answers much longer than we realized.
That’s why I continue documenting my dreams inside Third Eye Open: Dream Journal. Today’s strange dream about swimming, old memories, hidden treasures, and unexpected shortcuts became another reminder that the subconscious often teaches in symbols long before life explains them.
Sometimes the longest road is simply the one that helps us recognize the shorter way home.

π¦ What Changed Before Publishing
A few days after recording this dream, I remembered two important details. The silent ex in the mall passed away the previous year, though I had forgiven him several years before his death. The other silent exchange involved an estranged friendship that I intentionally chose not to pursue out of respect for my marriage. Neither interaction became a reunion. Both remained quiet acknowledgments. Looking back, that feels significant. The dream wasn’t inviting me to reopen old doors. It was showing me that some chapters can be honored without being revisited. Sometimes healing isn’t found in another conversation. Sometimes it’s found in recognizing that peace has already arrived.
