🌝♈When the Full Moon Meets a Fibro Flare: How to Recognize the Difference Between Ego and Pain

There’s a reason they call it the Hunter’s Moon — it hunts down what’s been hiding beneath our calm. October’s full moon in Aries didn’t just shine; it exposed.

I didn’t plan to raise my voice. I didn’t plan to lose my composure in front of loved ones. But under that fiery moonlight, while my body ached from a fibromyalgia flare, one tiny pet peeve hit a raw nerve — and I snapped.

Later, sitting in the quiet, I asked myself the same question many of us with chronic pain ask: Was that my ego or my illness?



🩸 Ego vs. Illness — It’s Not Always Either/Or

When you live with an invisible illness like fibromyalgia, your nervous system runs like a car with the check-engine light always on. Pain amplifies emotion, fatigue shortens your fuse, and overstimulation turns even small irritations into blaring alarms.

That’s biology.

But ego? Ego is your inner guardian of pride and boundaries — it steps in when you feel unseen or dismissed. During a flare, the line between ego and pain blurs. The body says “I can’t.” The ego says “I won’t.”
And suddenly, you’ve said something you can’t take back.

Neither makes you manipulative. Both make you human.



🔥 The Aries Full Moon Effect

Aries moons light up our solar plexus chakra — the seat of confidence, control, and expression. This energy pushes us to defend our truth, but sometimes forgets to lower its volume.

When mixed with chronic pain, that fiery energy can spill out as irritation, defensiveness, or tears.

2. Ground the Energy
Sit or lie down with your hands over your stomach.
Breathe deeply and whisper:

3. Revisit, Don’t Re-ignite
Once you’ve cooled off, revisit the moment with compassion. Was it pain speaking? Pride? Both deserve understanding, not punishment.

4. Communicate When Calm
Let loved ones know what a fibro flare feels like — how physical pain can sound like frustration. You’re not excusing behavior; you’re offering context. Healing grows from understanding.

This moon isn’t about perfection — it’s about purification. It calls us to hunt for honesty, release stored frustration, and practice grace when the body and spirit collide.
