So I scoured the news today, looking for something boring. You know… maybe a story about a cat stuck in a tree or a city approving a new bench design. Guess what? Nothing. Everything was either dramatic, heartbreaking, or so ridiculous it could have been a TikTok skit.

But then it hit me—maybe that’s the point. Life doesn’t hand us ‘boring’ anymore because we’re all running on high alert. It made me think about how I’ve been craving some boredom lately—like an afternoon where the wildest thing I read is about a neighborhood bake sale. Boring means peace sometimes, and peace is something I’m intentionally making room for in my life these days.

So, shoutout to all the ‘boring’ things: folded laundry, unbothered mornings, and a day where the biggest headline is me drinking tea without rushing. That’s my newsworthy moment for today—what’s yours?
