A lot of times writers are not certain when is the best time to release their book. Should they shelve it until the right month comes along? Are Tuesdays still the major publishing days?
The climate in which the book fits can be a factor. What about the influx of monthly themes like the ones that just passed “Domestic Awareness” and “Breast Cancer Month”, I mean men and women are being abused and losing their lives in this struggle daily so do you just spin a wheel numbered from 1-365 and pick a date?
According to Forbes, there are books that should be released during certain quarters, rather than which season would be best.
Self-help, personal improvement, finance, and weight loss books are most sought after in the first quarter as individuals are looking to make big changes after the new year. However, it is wise to avoid releasing that children’s book you worked so hard to get out. Kids are not looking for another book after the toys they received, and parents just spent their hard-earned funds on replenishing wardrobes. Best stick to business and empowerment.
Now during the second quarter, a children’s book would be ideal as in the spring and summer months children have less school and need something to occupy their time.
Vacation reads increase and weight loss and fiction books are read more during this time of year.
The third quarter which is before most of the holidays is quite iffy, but self-help is always in season, the business of self is significant and those who want to start a business or improve it will be picking up that book they purchased at the beginning of the first quarter.
As for the fourth quarter, folks are likely looking for cultural recipes, and holiday books since it is the holidays after all. This is also the time when people are purchasing calendars and low-content books like planners and journals.
As a writer self-publishing in the self-help genre, I have grown to appreciate low-content material and find that selling self-help books throughout the year is more helpful than creating planners, calendars, journals, and notebooks that usually pick up in sales during the last quarter and first quarter.
Personally, I sell my books on Amazon as well as handcraft them myself to sell online or in person. I love creating books, journals, and notebooks because they are more personal to me and my customers. They feel like I capture their lives and it reminds them of their ‘why’ daily.

I started crafting as a coping mechanism for dealing with daily chronic pain from fibromyalgia, which includes depression and anxiety. As a stay-at-home wife and mom, learning to create calendars and planners keeps me organized with cooking, cleaning, and homeschooling; journals and notebooks help with keeping my thoughts in order and then showing the children how to create their own and self-publish to create a happy place for us all as well as an income.
This is creating a legacy for my children, even if they do not find a business in writing, they inherit certain skills in plenty of other areas such as graphics design, print-on-demand, and self-publishing to name a few.
As children, they can form their own type of business and create wealth for themselves before becoming adults. That is refreshing and improves their minds, souls, and future finances.

That is a new book for me all in itself.
Books about loss, health, and wealth are best self-published when they are finished and whenever you get ready, there is no due date on health and wealth, and everyone is trying to get healthy and become wealthy. Just set the right goals with a checklist to guide you on the journey to a successful launch.
Below is a free checklist to help with your book release.
Seasons may have temperament predictions but people are going to purchase your book when their timing is right, you just have to be in the right mind space to present them with the right book and message.
A lot of times that date is just to be determined.
Our works and wisdom can affect anyone at anytime, trying to keep up with timing can attribute to depression and and anxiety. if your book is released in an off “quarter” you can always promote your book during, after and before. Our work outlives us so it can be sold through (our efforts) and around us in the world wide web.
Sending positive energy.
