If you had to make your life’s soundtrack back then to now, what would it sound like? Who would be the featured artist on your soundtrack of life (today)? I listen to a lot of music! I read a quote somewhere that it is like talking to an old friend and that is so true! That old friend is actually your old self!

Every payday, until about a decade ago, I would purchase at least one cd and don’t let it be a spot that is releasing an album at midnight by  a favorite artist, I was there, too!

If you had to make your life’s soundtrack back then to now, what would it sound like? Who would be the featured artist on your soundtrack of life (today)?

I had two cd cases full of music, I am not talking about the small case, I am talking about the case that you do not have any room for “now” case; the case that gets moved around a lot because it does not fit anywhere. I have a smaller vehicle than I did back in the day so it does not fit under the seat! So, for now, it sits on the back seat between my babies when we ride.

Notice I said “had two” now I am down to one. My other was stolen! The problem was it had local original artists CDs from my hometown of Austin, Texas in it! It was my hip-hop case. I was angry because most of them could never be recovered, circumstantially and financially!

The way I got over it was to embrace my then new found “holier than thou” lifestyle. It was the principle, though … no one likes to have their things taken from them! Especially an old song or a movie either.

I stopped buying CDs when I had to keep hitting the forward button too many times on the new ones. Back in the 90s, everyone seemed to have had magical production that had a dope song one after another and I was not technologically savvy enough for making my own mixes or creating MP3s at one point. I guess that is how we come to believe friends are gods because when you find someone who has what you need you tend to hold on to them for as long as possible. I know I did. Sorry …. I have matured since then.

I started listening to the CDs again about two weeks ago and I have so much to reminisce about what I was going through and where I am today. I am shocked about how the tables have turned in my life and how desperate I wanted to see changes and what I manifested through song. It is 2016 and I am still listening to 90s music!
