What Activities Do You Lose Yourself In?

Daily writing prompt
What activities do you lose yourself in?

There are certain activities where time disappears for me. I don’t check the clock. I don’t think about emails or errands. My mind, hands, and spirit just… align.

Those are the moments I know I’m doing the work I was meant to do.

For me, that happens most often when I’m creating systems that help people heal, learn, or see themselves differently.

Designing Sacred Tools

Give me a blank Canva page, a stack of notes, and a concept like chakras, moon phases, or ancestral wisdom, and I’m gone for hours.

I can lose myself designing:

  • healing journals
  • homeschool curriculum
  • planners and reflection pages
  • sticker packs and sacred symbols
  • lesson structures for Inner-G Scholars Academy

It’s not just design. It feels like translating ancient ideas into something people can hold in their hands.

Sometimes I look up and realize four hours passed and I forgot to eat.

Building Curriculum

Another place I disappear is when I’m developing my homeschool curriculum.

Mapping how children can learn geography — that kind of work lights up my whole brain.

It feels like constructing a classroom that should have existed all along.

Every time a new piece clicks into place, I feel like the ancestors are somewhere in the background nodding their heads.

Dream Journaling & Spiritual Reflection

Dreams are another space where time stretches differently.

I’ve been recording dreams since the early 2000s, and when I sit down to write them out, analyze patterns, or turn those reflections into blog posts or journal prompts, I can go deep for hours.

Dream work feels like listening to a quieter language — the one your spirit speaks when the world is finally still.

As a matter of fact I am working on this Thursday’s blog today …

Creating Content That Feels Like Medicine

Sometimes it’s writing.

Sometimes it’s designing a post.

Sometimes it’s building a planner page that makes someone feel seen.

Those moments when I’m creating content for my brands — Something Nubian, Custom Planner 4U, the social media pages I manage, or my consulting work — are the same moments when I feel most aligned.

Because at the core of it all, my work is about one thing:

Helping people reconnect with their own wisdom.

The Pattern I Noticed

The activities I lose myself in all have something in common.

They combine:

  • creativity
  • teaching
  • healing
  • systems thinking

Put those together and you’ll find me in my zone every single time.

Which is probably why my desk is always covered in journals, sticky notes, crystals, color palettes, and half-finished ideas waiting to bloom.

And honestly?

I wouldn’t have it any other way.
