What would I do if I won the lottery?

Daily writing prompt
What would you do if you won the lottery?

If I won the lottery, the first thing I’d do is exhale. Not scream. Not post. Just breathe—because peace would finally feel funded.

I’d pay off my student loans immediately. No ceremony, no announcement—just the quiet satisfaction of releasing a debt that followed me through multiple versions of myself.

Next, because they did such an amazing job, (I’d give intentionally) to Nemours Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House would receive donations without conditions or press releases. That kind of giving doesn’t need applause—it needs alignment. Children and caregivers deserve support that feels steady, not performative.

I’d invest in multi-family homes in every city where my family lives. Not mansions. Not ego properties. Just solid, income-producing buildings that create stability, legacy, and options. Wealth that keeps doors open—literally.

And finally, I’d make sure I always had a place to go from October through December. Somewhere warm, quiet, and unbothered. Somewhere I could opt out of holidays without explanation. Because choosing rest over obligation is also a form of abundance.

Winning the lottery wouldn’t turn me into someone else.
It would simply allow me to live more honestly—
with fewer compromises, softer winters, and money that moves like intention.

Affirmation:
I am allowed to want wealth that protects my peace.
