Why Science Was My First Love 💫 | A Soft Reflection

By Reiki RaEss

What was your favorite subject in school?

You ever sit in class and feel like the whole world just…clicked for a second?
That was me in science.

While some kids groaned when Bunsen burners came out or the teacher rolled in that dusty skeleton model, I was already leaning forward, pencil ready, heart open. Science made me feel like I wasn’t just in the world — I was part of it.

✨ Why Science Stole My Heart

Science wasn’t just formulas, quizzes, and frog dissections. It was storytelling — with evidence.

Why does the sky change colors when the sun sets?

How does a tiny seed split open and know how to become a whole tree?

Why does the human heart beat faster when we’re curious… or afraid?

Nobody gave me mystical answers — they gave me atoms, energy, gravity, cells. Science said: Here’s the magic, and here’s the recipe behind it. And I loved that.

🔍 Science Taught Me More Than Facts

It taught me:

To observe — to really look at things instead of just seeing them.

To question — respectfully, bravely, often.

To accept change — because everything evolves, dissolves, or transforms.

To see connection — between galaxies and fingerprints… roots and lungs… thunderstorms and emotions.

💫 Science & My Spiritual Side Can Coexist

As I got older and more spiritual, I thought I had to choose — logic or intuition, lab coat or crystals. Then I realized…

Science is how, spirituality is why.

Science explained how the moon pulls the tides.
Spirituality helped me feel how the moon pulls my energy.
And both were true.

💭 Reflection Corner (For You, Beloved)

Pause for a minute and ask yourself:

What was your favorite subject in school?

Did it make you feel safe, seen, or alive?

Do you still feel connected to it today… or did life make you forget?

Drop your answer in the comments — I want to hear your story.

🌱 Final Thought

Science didn’t just teach me about the world — it taught me to wonder.
And I think that’s something we’re all trying to find again.
