How do you feel about cold weather?

By Reiki Ra-Ess, Positive Inner-G Coach

Growing up, I didn’t know anything about scraping ice off a windshield, feeling your nose hairs freeze, or the beauty of a quiet snowfall. My childhood was bathed in warm air, sunshine on my skin, and the kind of heat that made cold drinks hit different. Cold weather? That was something we saw on movies, like folks sipping hot cocoa with scarves the size of blankets. It looked magical—but distant.

Then, life did what it does—it brought change. I moved and experienced my first real snow. Not the TV kind. The icy breath in the air, your fingers can’t text, snowball fights until your jeans are soaked kind. And let me tell you—I loved it. Not every single second of it (let’s be real, frozen toes and slipping on ice ain’t cute), but the experience as a whole? It was pure magic. It was the stillness of snow falling at night. The crunch under your boots. The coziness that comes from warming up after the chill.

It taught me that cold seasons, just like cold seasons in life, carry beauty too. Reflection. Slowing down. Rest. Blankets. Tea rituals. Chakra-balancing baths. It’s not all struggle—it’s an invitation to lean inward and be gentle with yourself.

Even now as an adult, I still carry that love with me. I create sacred winter spaces—crystals on the windowsill, peppermint tea in hand, incense burning low, and always something warm bubbling on the stove. Snow reminds me that change can be beautiful. And as a Positive Inner-G Coach, I know balance is necessary. Just like our energy centers—there’s a time to heat up, and a time to cool down.

Whether you’re a sunshine soul or a snowflake fanatic, the seasons mirror our healing journey: there are warm moments of joy, cold ones of grief, and everything in between—but all of them serve a purpose.

How do you feel about cold weather? Do you bundle up with a smile, or count the days till summer?
