Making Soulful Learning Simple, Natural, and Healing
By ReikiRaEss Positive Inner-G and Journal Therapy Coach|Something NuBian
When people hear the words holistic homeschooling, they sometimes think it must be complicated, expensive, or reserved for gurus sitting cross-legged on mountain tops.
But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
For me, holistic homeschooling started with a deep intuition—and the knowing that learning should nurture the spirit as much as it nurtures the mind.

When I Realized Spiritual Learning Could Be Simple
Long before my second daughter was even born, I already knew public school wasn’t the right place for us. My first daughter was still attending at the time, and the inconsistencies, disrespect, and spiritual misalignments I witnessed pushed me to look for another way.
While pregnant with my second daughter, we took a trip to Atlanta to visit a cousin—and that’s where everything shifted. She gave me a crash course on homeschooling, teaching with intuition, love, and truth.
I realized then:
Learning didn’t need to be rigid. It didn’t need a huge budget. It just needed heart, wisdom, and intention.
How I Made Chakras and Affirmations Feel Natural
We started small.
At breakfast, we would wear and eat chakra colors for the day. Red foods for the Root Chakra. Blue for the Throat Chakra. Yellow for the Solar Plexus. It wasn’t a ceremony—it was life.
Later, as they grew, I taught them the power of listening instead of only talking.
Where prayer was speaking, meditation was listening—and it became our daily reset.
Affirmations started to weave themselves into everything:
| “I am strong.”
|“I am safe.”
|“I speak my truth.”
It wasn’t hard.
It was home.
The Simple Activities That Became Sacred
You know what really surprised me?
Journaling.
Whenever I felt stuck—whether creatively, emotionally, or spiritually—I would have my girls sit down and journal or color. It was calming, accessible, and soul-healing.
Simple rituals like this taught me that you don’t need an elaborate plan.
Sometimes all you need is a blank page, a crayon, and a safe space to release.

What I Tell Parents Who Feel Overwhelmed
When parents ask me if holistic homeschooling is hard, I tell them this:
First, envision it.
What do you want your homeschooling journey to look and feel like?
Then, write it down.
Break it into small action steps.
Finally, realize you already have what you need.
If you have the Internet, a printer, a digital device, or even just a Dollar Tree nearby—you’re already halfway there.
It’s not about perfection.
It’s about presence.

How I Keep It Flowing on Low-Energy Days
Chronic conditions can make you want to give up sometimes. I know that feeling intimately.
The key? Effective communication and consistency.
We made our flow simple:
What day and time we start
How long the lesson will last
Where it takes place
Who is being taught (and what they need)
And we repeated it until it became second nature.
Even on days when my body wanted to rest, the rhythm carried us.
Because soulful learning isn’t just about teaching them—it’s about healing with them.

✨ You Can Do This, Too
Holistic homeschooling isn’t about doing it all.
It’s about doing it differently—with love, with spirit, and with grace.
And guess what?
That’s more than enough.
