I Don’t Believe in God Series: Breaking the Poverty Spell – How Religious Beliefs Impact Our Wealth Mindset

By Reiki RaEss

The Roots of Scarcity

Growing up, I was repeatedly exposed to beliefs like “money is the root of all evil,” or that true wealth awaited us only in the afterlife. These messages, deeply embedded in religious teachings, created a powerful narrative that wealth and spirituality couldn’t coexist. I know many of you felt this too—carrying subconscious guilt or even fear about desiring financial abundance because it seemed spiritually “wrong.”

Unraveling the Conditioning

It wasn’t until I started questioning the traditional doctrines around money and spirituality that I realized just how much my mindset was limiting my ability to attract prosperity. Leaving behind these fear-based religious teachings allowed me to understand that abundance isn’t just financial—it’s energetic. By embracing my own mantra, “I have everything I need,” I began actively rewriting my wealth story. This affirmation became my foundation for manifesting economic empowerment and stepping boldly into financial freedom.

Money: An Energetic Exchange

Let’s be real: Money is energy. Like all energy, it can be blocked or liberated depending on your mindset. When I released religious conditioning around scarcity and embraced money as a sacred, reciprocal exchange, I opened myself to abundant possibilities. My homeschooling, entrepreneurship, and Reiki practices flourished because I recognized money as a divine tool—one that could support my dreams, my family’s well-being, and the generational healing I’m passionate about.

Healing Your Wealth Mindset

Transforming your relationship with money requires inner healing, particularly around the Root and Solar Plexus Chakras. Through chakra balancing, affirmations, journaling, and intentional manifesting, you can dismantle beliefs that hinder financial growth. Economic empowerment isn’t sinful—it’s your birthright. You deserve to thrive financially and spiritually without guilt or limitation.

Abundance as Liberation

Let’s be clear, Religious conditioning around wealth isn’t just limiting—it’s a spell. Breaking this poverty spell means reclaiming the power within you. Economic liberation comes from knowing you are worthy of abundance, prosperity, and success here and now, not just in the afterlife.

Remember, I don’t believe in God, because I know God. Knowledge is infinite. ✌🏾🫶🏾
