Jesus, Ishtar, and the Rebirth We’ve Been MissingAn Easter Special

When Resurrection Becomes Revelation
Let’s be real—the story of Jesus’ birth and resurrection has always felt… off. Depending on who you ask, he was born in a manger in December, in the springtime with sheep nearby, or on a completely symbolic day. But what if the most powerful part of the story isn’t about a birth at all?

What if the real miracle wasn’t the baby in the manger… but the awakening of divine consciousness after death? What if Jesus’ rebirth was his true birth?

And with Easter—or should I say Ishtar—right around the corner, it’s time we really unpack what resurrection means for us.

The Birth That Wasn’t Really a Birthday
December 25th is often celebrated as Jesus’ birthday, but even many Christian scholars agree: that date was chosen long after his death. The early church aligned it with pagan winter solstice celebrations like Saturnalia to make conversion easier.

The Bible mentions shepherds in the fields at night—a clue that his birth was more likely in spring, during lambing season.

So, if that wasn’t his real birthday… what was?

Resurrection Was the Real Birth
This is where things get divine.

Jesus’ so-called “death” could be viewed as the death of ego, the shedding of flesh, and the beginning of Christ Consciousness. His rebirth after the crucifixion? That was the activation of spiritual truth.

It was never about worshiping a man nailed to wood. It was about becoming the energy he embodied.

Just like nature dies in winter and rises again in spring, Jesus’ “resurrection” might be more aligned with spiritual evolution than literal events.

The Ishtar / Easter Connection
Long before Easter became a Christian holiday, there was Ishtar (pronounced Easter), the goddess of fertility, love, and renewal in Mesopotamian tradition. Her rites celebrated the return of life each spring.

The eggs? The rabbits? All fertility symbols from her worship.

So what happened? The Church didn’t just borrow the name—they repackaged her celebration into something new.

But the truth is still there, beneath the surface: resurrection is feminine, fertile, and cosmic. It’s not just about Jesus. It’s about you.

This Is Your Season to Rise
Just like the earth is waking up, so are we.

This season isn’t about colored eggs or church clothes. It’s a spiritual invitation to:

Let the old version of you die

Rebirth your truth, your voice, your divine power

Remember that you are the altar, the temple, and the risen light

Jesus was a mirror, not a master. The true rebirth is within.

From Religion to Realization
This Easter, you don’t have to cling to a story that was handed down in fear. You can rise into a story that was written in your soul.

Jesus. Ishtar. Nature. You. All telling the same tale:

Death is not the end. It’s the beginning of becoming.

So ask yourself…

What part of me is ready to resurrect?

Journal Prompts:

1. What version of myself needs to be released?

2. Where have I been taught to fear my own power?

3. What would it look like for me to rise spiritually this season?

Affirmations:

I rise with purpose and divine knowing.

I am my own awakening.

I embody the resurrection within me.

Asé.
