“The Jealous God Lie: Why Divine Love Ain’t Insecure”

By Reiki Ra-ess | Positive Inner-G Coach | Something Nubian

There’s a phrase that’s been floating through pulpits and pews for centuries like it’s holy gospel:

“God is a jealous God.”

Now let me sip my herbal tea and say this clearly — that always sat sideways in my spirit. Like… why would an all-knowing, all-loving, all-powerful Creator — the Supreme Energy — be caught up in a very human emotion like jealousy?

Because jealousy is a frequency rooted in insecurity, not sovereignty. It reflects lack, not abundance. That’s emotional manipulation in sacred clothing, and when we dig deep, it feels more like man’s projection of power, not divine essence.

Let’s Talk About MANipulation

This phrase has been used to spiritually gaslight people into submission, especially in marginalized communities. It’s coded with fear:

  • “Don’t question.”
  • “Don’t grow outside the system.”
  • “Don’t connect to anything outside of this doctrine — or else.”

But the Most High I know? The one I commune with during Reiki sessions, under moonlight with orange and ginger, the one I hear through wind, womb, and wisdom? That Divine Presence doesn’t need followers, fear, or flattery. That Source is secure. Expansive. Eternal. Loving. Patient. And deeply invested in you remembering your power, not dimming it.

Now about that ‘God sinned so we wouldn’t have to’ story…

Many were told that God had to come to Earth in human form (through Jesus) to take on “sin” — as if humanity was too unworthy, too broken, too damned to make it without a spiritual substitute teacher.

Let me say this loud for the saints in the back: we were never meant to be spiritually co-dependent.

You do not need someone else to suffer in order to be saved. That erases the purpose of spiritual evolution. If anything, the Most High wants you to wake up, shed the guilt, clean your own house, and align your inner G — not ride the coattails of a bloody sacrifice.

That narrative was meant to control the collective by replacing inner power with outer obedience.

The Real Truth?

The Divine gave you free will, not fear.
The Divine gave you energy, not envy.
The Divine gave you access, not anxiety.

So when someone says “God is jealous,” I whisper to myself:

“That might be your god, but mine is secure enough to love without conditions. My God guides me without guilt and blesses me without begging for attention.”

Asé to that.

And I say this with reverence for all paths — but let it be known, we must question what we inherited. The Most High doesn’t want followers. The Most High wants you to be woke and woken up — healed, whole, aware, and standing in your divine knowing. Period.
