The Learning Curve

This week I have learned plenty! And with all the things I have learned,  I would have to say my book entitled The Black Woman’s Guide to Minding Her Own Business is giving me the stepping stones needed to reach an all time high! More than I expected at least. My Paypal reached a limit for me to order more books without having to pay out of pocket.

I would have to say The Black Woman’s Guide to Minding Her Own Business is giving me the stepping stones needed to reach an all time high!

I had a conversation with five amazing women this week and what I learned was so overwhelming but much-needed information. Some I heard more than once which confirmed what I already knew and didn’t, but none the less, I have plenty of homework and looking to become a scholar.

The one thing they all have in common is they love  the book’s title. Because of how much they liked it they all told me at least one thing I should be doing.  I met each of the ladies via Law of Attraction. We have like minds so we have mutual friends which allowed us to become acquainted. We mingled a little and discussed what each of us did for a living or strive to do and sparks began to fly.

Coach Terra Jackson, is an amazing Marketing Genius, Social Media Guru, Branding Connoisseur and Future Billionaire . I completed her class called the 30-day Hustle Harder Bootcamp. I was attracted to her because of different pictures, her beautiful gap-toothed smile, and engagement! All the while I thought I was stalking her and digging her style she was paying close attention to me and before I knew it I was enrolled into her class. Because of her expertise creating a profitable friends list, my book sales increased within days of attending her class. She is a BEAST!

Estitician and natural product entrepreneur Rubi Davidson was instrumental in advising me on how to become more comfortable in recording videos. I engaged in a conversation with her about my book and advised that I was too shy about recording myself for visibility purposes. She suggested I played around with it for about a month until I began to feel more comfortable with being on camera. To this day I still do not feel comfortable but her advice definitely made me feel at ease.

become your clients obsession

Consulting Coach Tatiana Wallace is the content Queen! I definitely was fascinated by her authenticity. She had no problem with authenticity: sharing her issues, ups, downs,  and she and I connected by our most colorful vocabulary! She shared advice on scheduling  and consulted me on what direction to take to make my business Alluvial Business Consulting & Writing Services to the next level without cold calling.  On our  hour-long one on one,  we went over applying the information learned to avoid information overload, set some goals and focus. Last but definitely not least, Gina Mae the Jones is an Artist, Songwriter, Percussionist, Branding, Photographer, and Graphics Designer and is my long time friend but more like family. I met her on this plantation we worked on and when she left to pursue other interests she took a piece of me with her. This Queen gives me so many accolades and positive energy! It is said that your children/offspring will be ten times better or ten times worse. She says that she learned so much from me and is inspired by me, and I am truly inspired by her. I  see a lot of great in her. You gotta love a woman who is more than just a really good cook.

“We stand on the shoulders of all that came before us. In the oral traditions of our ancestors, stories would be past down from generation to generation. Some of the stories are “old wives’ tales” that teach us a lesson. We often tend to discount this kind of old-fashioned thinking but today we need the old wives’ tales and more to face the plethora of situations both in personal and business.”
~ excerpt from “Souls of my Sisters” Foreword by Ilyasah Shabazz

Each of these women imparted so much into my spirit that will be a platform to my new humble beginnings. I am grateful to them and what they have offered. I would love to be in the same vicinity with all of them at once. The energy we could project is far more than I could ever imagine.

Now is the time to grab a sister a link up for mental, physical and spiritual purposes. I appreciate all of these women and their gifts.
