Learning and Growing
I definitely did not mean to take this much time away from here! The one thing I did not want to do was get so busy that I could not keep up a schedule for what I love to do which is write! I have taken and completed classes and am certified in everything it seems like. I have manges to complete two courses and am now a copywriter and mobile notary.

With doing something new you also explore new territories. I had a wonderful birthday (month) celebrating with family (especially my three beautiful daughters)! Of course, there were gifts galore! My favorite were the ones that have been given to me at birth that I open each day… my two eyes. Without those, I could only depend on my third eye.
I was able to travel to Birmingham, Alabama with the love of my life, The King of the Field. We attended the Carver Theater of Performing Arts where rapper, now speaker, David Banner presented Dr. Umar Johnson a Black Psychologist and National Certified School Psychologist, who travels the country educating parents about the war against Black boys and book signing. While I do not have a son, I learned plenty about the school systems tactics and how to defend your family from statistical failure.
I have been a long time fan of both brother David Banner and Dr. Umar aka Prince Ifantunde, for some time now. I am unquestionably excited about the evolution of David Banner. He has always been awake but his decision to awaken the masses with his consciousness is astounding and I was elated to witness both of them in the same room with those who share the same understanding.

Since then, things have certainly improved, when you know better you do better, right? Right! Listening to their speeches made me think more about my children that I am grateful are homeschooled. We have the opportunity to teach them to think critically and become entrepreneurs. This is undeniably different from what I experienced as a child although I was not sent away for summer camps I was not educated at home all day and taught independence or my true history. I was favored with my oldest who at least experienced private school in her early years where they taught about the African heritage before slavery. I won’t lie I grew up believing all people of African descendants were born into slavery and had no sense. Boy, was I wrong and I am glad!
So what else have I been up to?
A few years ago I was added to a project for creating a logo for a t-shirt company that is evolving called Boundless Options. I provided some skills such as assistant, consulting and customer service. The hard work and dedication paid off in three years because they are now more than words across the front of a shirt. The logo is now embroidered on the back that is an infinity sign. These t-shirts will be great for family reunions, businesses, clubs, etc. I wear them at least two days a week to advertise and plus they are really comfortable. I have chosen that if I want to be branded why not wear a brand I represent and believe in? Think about it “Boundless Options”; let that marinate.
I also witness the birth of the Book Buddy. This nifty little thing is a readers’ assistant used to keep books open that will not stay open. It allows you to read while on your back or keep your last page held when you put it away. I plan to be there when this tool meets its momentum. I have also found a nifty way to get it out to people for free, Stay with me …
Last but not least; I had my first semi-book sale! For those that do not know, I wrote a book called The Black Woman’s Guide to Minding Her Own Business. I was invited as a vendor to a local function called Speak on it! The reason I called this a “semi” sale is because, well life happens and I did not order as many to sell as I would have liked but all in all I showed up, networked and did not cry about the outcome. I actually discussed a book signing at another location with a local business that was also a vendor there that night as well selling dashikis and oil. Now for anyone who purchased my book via presale get a free Book Buddy. Who doesn’t like free?

All I can say is I asked the Creator to move all things that were not for me out of the way and invite all that is needed. My family is still here and I am busy making a life living! I am back, though. I am working diligently on my niche. I want to get back to making videos from songs that I love with images that are eye catching and relative. I enjoy creating my own memes and all of this is outside of my money making skills of being a writer and virtual assistant. It is going down!
There is so much in store …. but in the meantime check out the slideshow and get a glimpse of where I have been and up to. The Book Buddy, Boundless Options, The Black Woman’s Guide to Minding Her Own Business, The King of the Field custom Chess Boards and Dr. Umar Johnson autographing his new book Psycho-Academic Holocaust to “The King and Queen of the Field”; and David Banner autographing his Before The God Box to my eldest daughter @MysstoryJones.
Until next time …
Namaste
